王振铎:编辑的文化构建与出版的媒介传播

摘要:中国的编辑学、日本的出版学与美国的传播学,作为三个科学术语,其实质内容,基本上属于同一个大的学科范围。其客体形态,如同一个△,从三个不同角度,不同侧面去研究这个△,便有三个不同的学科称谓。至少它们的研究对象是高度交叉的、深度分层的,或分区段紧密连接的一种类似三角形的综合体。即编辑:创造构成媒介文化,出版:开发经营媒体产业,传播:交流各种信息的一种产业链。
比起出版学来,编辑学相对偏重于研究思想文化的先进性、学术传统的深广性、意识形态结构的整体性,以及科学和技术等综合内容的编辑构成。中国编辑学会采用林穗芳先生创造的英文形式的“编辑学”术语——Redactology,比起日本造的Editology,前者的概念中,只有编辑活动的内容,没有出版活动的内容。后者的概念中则既含有编辑活动的内容,也含有出版活动的内容。
出版业这条巨龙,在社会主义市场经济的影响下,“编—印—发”被颠倒过来,发行变为龙头,编辑变为龙尾。出版究竟是以文化为旗帜还是以商品为旗帜?我赞成在理论创新与学科建设上保持编辑学、出版学、传播学相对独立地进行分科研究,然后才能在产业实践中做出综合性的成功。
现代网络媒介的交流方式,已打破纸质媒介传播的单向性、缓慢性、仪式性、信息的版面局限性与物流的沉重性。极大地补救了纸质印刷出版物对文化传播的缺陷和不足。在信息化社会,人类追求的首要目标是精神和文化。在信息的汪洋大海中,人们更加依赖职业编辑对信息进行分类、审选、编序和组构,从而减少自己获取信息的成本。这样,编辑的地位和作用更加凸显,对编辑的要求更高。最后,我想提个建议,中、日、韩三国应该加强编辑出版方面的交流与合作。编辑出版界应顺应区域经济同盟化的世界潮流,致力于创构一种和谐的文化圈,减少战争遗留下来的心理伤痛和民族隔阂,为东亚的和平与发展做出更大贡献。
Abstract
The contents of three scientific terminologies, Chinese Redactology, Japanese Publishing and American Communication, roughly are in the same scope of one study. Theirs subjects could be explained as a △: the three different terminologies comes from three different angles and three different respects. But at least their research objects are highly crossed and deeply storied, closely connected as a triangular combination. That is, Redactology: create and construct the media culture; Publication, develop and manage media industry; Communication: the unit of information communication.
Compare with Publishing, Redactology puts the emphasis on the study of culture advances, academic convention extension, and ideology structure unit, and the editing construction of science and technology. Compare with the terminology Editology by Japanese, the terminology Redactology by Lin Suifang, adopted by Chinese Redactology Society, has the meaning of editing but no content of publishing, while the term Editology has both the two meanings.
Influenced by the Socialist Market Economy, the conventional order “Editing-Publishing-Distributing” has been turned off as “Distributing-Publishing-Editing”. Which is the aim of publishing, culture or commodity? I think, as for the theoretical innovation and subject construction, we should analyze Redactology, Publishing and Communication as three different studies, consequently the integrated success will be realized in industry practice.
Modern net communication exceeds paper-media’s limits of one-way edit, slowness, ritualization, space limit and heavy transport. It has greatly compensated the limitation and deficiency of paper publication for culture communication. In the information society, human firstly pursue ideology and culture. But information is extremely enormous, people have to rely on professional editors’ typology, examination, order and construction of information, to reduce their cost of getting information. Therefore, Editors’ status and function become more important, and they are expected to be better and better. Finally, I suggest that China, Japan and Korea should strengthen the communication and cooperation of edition and publishing. Editors and publishers should acclimate the world trend of region confederation, try to work on a harmonious culture circle, reduce the hurt and gulf left by war, and do more contribution to East Asia’s peace and development.
